Draw panels from exquisite geometric and biomorphic sandstone carvings from the Agra fort, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, north India.

These otherworldly 17th century decorated courtyard columns include unique biomorphic and geometric patterns created by artisans from Bengal were brought for their unique abilities.

Contrary to its name, Jahangir Mahal was actually built by Akbar. Two courtyards, lots of rooms, exquisite sandstone carving. The designs areinfused with a blend of both Islamic and Hindu architectural styles, influences that are obvious in the details of every nook and cranny of its windows, domes, and walls.

REQUIRED equipment & materials

 

  • A compass (recommended compass is the Rotring Master Bow)
  • A ruler
  • Cartridge paper – A3 size ideally heavy weight (120gsm plus)
  • Range of Pencils (6B-4H)
  • Tracing paper
  • Zero Eraser or equivalent
  • Optional – Coloured pencils.
  • Optional – Fine line drawing pens (useful to have, but not essential)
